If you are new to Straight Up Chess, here is a little information you should know and some help to guide you through the web site.
These boards are designed for a casual game of chess. You make your move and mark it as 'Last Move'. Later your opponent passes by, makes their move, marks it as 'Last Move' and the game continues. In our busy office we play 1 to 2 games a week.
Every board will come with markers for 'Last Move' and 'Check' as shown here.
Where to begin???
Do you have chess pieces and just need a board? Click here or on the chess boards tab below, pick from one of the 6 series of boards and then select your frame. Very important - If the tallest piece in your set is not 3 , go to contact us , give us the size of your set and we will customize your board. We make boards for sets from 1 1/2 to 3 1/4 in size.
Would you like to build your own customized Straight Up Chess set (board and chess pieces)? We suggest you select the chess pieces first, then select the board and frame. We will size the board to fit the chess pieces you select. Click here or on the menu to the left.
Would you like to buy a complete set already designed? Click here or on Complete Unique Sets on the menu to the left and browse. Here you will find not only sets we keep in stock but hard to find and one of a kind sets. I hope to add more sets to this section very soon.
